Our story
A studio built for the moments that matter.
Brave Florist began in 2019 in a small atelier near Universitas Mulawarman, with one florist, one cooler, and a hand-written order book. We were quiet, but particular.
Seven years later, the standards have not changed. We import roses weekly from Holland, Ecuador, and East Java. We hand-tie every bouquet the morning of pickup. We still track every order in the same book, only thicker.
Most of all, we have stayed small enough to know the names of the graduates we send bouquets to, the brides we build for, and the families we deliver sympathies to. That is the studio. That has always been the brief.

The moments that took us from a one-woman atelier in 2019 to the most-trusted florist across East Kalimantan.
2019
A small atelier on Jl. Perjuangan
Brave Florist opens as a one-woman studio near Universitas Mulawarman, with a single cooler and a hand-written order book.
2020
Surviving the year of distance
While the world stayed home, we delivered florals to closed weddings, drive-by graduations, and quiet anniversaries. That year built the customer base that still trusts us today.
2022
Specialist Fresh Flowers, earned
After three years of importing stems weekly from Holland, Ecuador, and East Java, we adopt the title that defines us. The Samarinda shop expands into the next-door space.
2024
Balikpapan atelier opens
Our second studio opens in Balikpapan, built around the same standards, the same cooler-room temperature, and the same ribbon palette.
2026
Eight thousand bouquets later
We have hand-tied florals for over 8,000 customers across Kalimantan. We answer to none of them as a number. Every bouquet is still built one stem at a time.

Founder & Senior Florist
Trained in Singapore and Bandung, Maharani founded Brave in 2019 with the conviction that East Kalimantan deserved the same florist standards as Jakarta and Bali.

Studio Director, Balikpapan
Reza leads the Balikpapan atelier, overseeing imports, storage temperature, and the hand-tied technique that defines every Brave bouquet.

Wedding & Atelier Lead
Sari runs our wedding programme, managing mood-boards, trial bouquets, and on-site setup for ceremonies across Kalimantan and beyond.

Hampers & Corporate Lead
Dimas oversees corporate gifting and seasonal hampers, coordinating bulk orders, brand colour matching, and on-time delivery for clients of all sizes.

The way we work hasn’t changed since 2019. Here is what stays the same, bouquet to bouquet and year to year.
Fresh, never pre-built
We do not assemble bouquets in advance. Every piece is hand-tied the morning of pickup or delivery, including our same-day urgent orders.
Imported, but never anonymous
Our roses come from named growers in Holland, Ecuador, and Cipanas. We can tell you the farm and the variety of every stem in your bouquet.
Owner-led design
Every bouquet over IDR 1jt is reviewed by our senior florist before it leaves the studio. No assembly line, no shortcuts.
Quiet luxury
We choose restraint over loudness. Our wraps are linen and satin. Our ribbons are grosgrain.
